About Dr. Felix Mauersberger

Dr. Felix Mauersberger is an economist and researcher with a lifelong passion for understanding the forces that shape human behavior, society, and global economic systems. His curiosity for these subjects began early; at just nine years old, he assembled a database of key figures for all countries in the world, driven by a desire to make sense of the world’s complexities. This intellectual drive has continued to guide his academic and professional journey.

Dr. Mauersberger holds a B.A. (Honours) in Economics from Cambridge University and a Ph.D. in Economics from Pompeu Fabra University, where he graduated cum laude—the highest possible distinction. During his doctoral studies, he conducted research at Harvard University and Columbia University. He is currently a Visiting Professor at UT Dallas and has previously served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Bonn, where he taught Behavioral Economics.

His research combines insights from monetary economics, macroeconomics, and behavioral and experimental economics, offering a nuanced perspective on economic and social dynamics. His work has been published in leading academic outlets, including the Journal of Economic Theory, the Handbook of Computational Economics, and the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control.

In addition to his academic contributions, Dr. Mauersberger brings practical experience from the private sector, where he has worked in data science, pricing, marketing, and machine learning. These roles have enriched his understanding of how theoretical economics intersects with real-world applications, allowing him to analyze complex systems from multiple angles.

Through his research, teaching, and writing, Dr. Mauersberger seeks to inspire critical thinking and foster meaningful dialogue about the interconnectedness of economics, history, and human behavior. Beyond his professional work, he enjoys engaging with diverse perspectives through reading, discussions, and interdisciplinary collaborations.
